Inning # 7 Reds vs. Padres

Our record dropped to 3-3 as the Reds lost 7-1 to the Padres. The Padres pitchers provided us with a 1 hit ball game. More to come as we head for Chicago.

Our Baltimore Seats!

One row beside the dugout...Larry has been the dugout security guy for over 29 years. As you can tell he wasn't doing his job by allowing two characters like R2 to be near the playing field

Inning # 6 Fans of the Game - Camden Yards

A group of fellow teachers.
Got a ball for the little guys soon to be brother or sister.
The next starting centre fielder for the Orioles. Wearing a U.S. Baseball Classic jersey signed by Roberts the lead-off hitter for the Orioles.

We were given third row seats by two guys after we had helped their father getting to his seat. Another fun night at the ballpark in heat reaching almost 90. Orioles take a loss in extra innings to the Kansas City Royal. Our record is 3-2 for the home team. Heading to Great American Ball Park in the morning.

Mets Win In Dramatic Fashion

Monday night we visited Citi Field in Queens. A great park to visit for any fan of baseball or a neubie to the sport. As you enter the Rotunda the spirit Jackie Robinson over takes in the rotunda that resembles Ebbits Field formerly of the Brooklyn Dodgers. As we were heading to our seat we met up with Dick Vitalle a famous NCAA basketball voice. The stadium captured the spirit of the game in many ways. We arrived under the cloud of a heavy rainstorm that limited Batting Practice. The other cloud was happening at the same time in the front office with the firing of NY Mets VP of player development. The General Manager during the press conference called out a member of the Daily Press for his writings and attempts to get job in baseball. As for the rain delay and controversy surrounded the stadium both teams were able to get sown to baseball. The Colorado Rockies quickly jumped out to a three run lead early in the game. Following which the Mets had some timely hitting to fight for the tie. A young pitcher, Matt Daley was called up by the Colorado Rockies in the morning because of the lack of right hand pitcher in the bull pen. We managed to meet his family who were at the game seeing as he grew up in Flushing Meadows. Dunc had his hat signed by Daley and was given a major league ball also. During the 8th inning the Mets loaded the bases for a perfect pinch hit opportunity for Tatis. Tatis was able to hit a Grand Slam causing the place to erupt in cheers and cause the famous Big Apple raise up beyond the fence out in centre field. Here is the link for the Pinch Hit Grand Slam. Daley came in to close the inning for his first appearance in the majors in front of his many family members. The final score was 7 -3 for the Mets. We took the subway back to Manhattan and settled in for a rest for the drive to Baltimore.
